The much awaited film of the year, ‘Drishyam‘, released across the globe starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, and Ishita Dutta in lead roles. Directed by Nishikant Kamat, the film received somewhat good reviews.
However, looking at its performance at the box office on the opening day itself looks like it will fail to get a huge collection. The occupancy on the first day remains average.
The Hindi adaptation of the Malayalam film with the same name experienced only 10-15% occupancy rates across India. It was released on a screen count of 2365. Thus, it is going to witness low opening day collection.
Ajay Devgn starrer “Singham Returns” and “Action Jackson” had good first day reports, but his latest release has below average reports so far.
As per the reports of Box Office India, ‘Drishaym‘ has experienced low occupancy rates as compared to the likes of ‘Piku‘, “Hamari Adhuri Kahani“, and others which released earlier this year.
Meanwhile, ‘Drishyam‘ has received more positive reviews than bad ones, thus it can be expected that its collection will rise in its first weekend across the nation.
On the other hand, Salman Khan’s latest film ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan‘ has been fairing steadily everywhere. It will result into low earning of Ajay Devgn starrer.
As per the sources, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan‘ has collected over Rs 500 crore worldwide. Thus, it indicates that the audience has gone crazy to watch Salman’s film at first.
‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan‘ has started its 3rd week at the box office and its 3rd Friday occupancy is reported to be greater than ‘Drishyam‘ first day occupancy. By looking at the ongoing trends, Salman Khan starrer will fare better than ‘Drishyam‘ in the future too.
The film’s plot revolves around an illiterate, middle class business who loves his family very much. Somehow, he and his family is accused of involving in a murder. What does he do to escape out of it and the climax is the whole story.
Prior to the release of the film, Ajay Devgn said that he expects that film will do well but didn’t expect that it will collect Rs 150 crore at the domestic box office.
Well, on Thursday, its paid preview collected only Rs 50 lakhs (Rs 5 million) approximately.
Stay tuned to receive the latest updates on ‘Drishyam‘ box office collection.
