It’s unbeatable action with the undisputed acting of Sunny Deol added to the success of Ghayal, released 25 years ago (1990).
The action-thriller was directed by Rajkumar Santosi whereas produced by Sunny’s father Dharmendra, minted a fabulous box office (highest grosser of its time) and became the first movie to win seven Filmfare Academy Awards, counting the Best Film Award. This outing gave Sunny the opportunity to hold the National Film Awards (Special Jury) that year.
Ghayal was released in India on June 8, 1990. Now, another good news for Sunny Deol fans is that the sequel Ghayal: Once Again shooting has been finished. It will hit theaters this Diwali.
The sequel stars four teenagers in lead roles, one of which is Sunny others’ names are not yet revealed by him. The audience loved the music and songs of Ghayal. The prequel featured trio composers Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy whereas lyrics were written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Its songs were sung by multiple singers.
Perhaps the most exciting news for Sunny’s fans is that the renowned Hollywood director Dan Bradley has directed the stunts himself, which the actors will be performing.
Ghayal: Once Again will be the directorial debut of Sunny Deol. He has also produced it under the banner Sunny Sounds Pvt. Ltd. while the presentation is delivered by Dharmendra.
