New Delhi: The popular TV serial aired on ColorsTV – ‘Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat’ had a bad Thrusday. On the night of Thursday, a lightman Gautam Sangpriya suddenly died.
According to the news of Mid-Day, Gautam Sangpriya was working as a lightman for serial.
As per reports state that the reason for death is high voltage electric current. He was immediately admitted to a nearby hospital, but he was dead by then. After reaching to the hospital, the doctors declared him dead.
A person very close to the Lightman Gautam said, “He was married only 5 years ago, he had a whole life in front of him. It would not be wrong to say that the workers are forced to work 16 consecutive hours daily, due to which they face fatigue and other problems and could not find enough time to spare with children.”
The film studio setting and Allied Labor Union are constantly trying to prevent such cases to happen, and they are running few campaigns over it. They also take in concern that labor, working on highs, should have a harness, and only work for 12 hours. But, still, no strong action has been taken on this side.
The lightman’s death has again raised the question that why the set manager elaborate security arrangements more precisely to prevent such cases to take place?
Union secretary Gangeshwar Srivastava said, “If such incidents keep happening in ND Studio, Karjat, we would have to stop labors working there or the set manager would have to filfull our requirements.”
Contiloi Entertainment CEO, Abhimanyu Singh, said, “It is very sad that we lost a member of their crew. In this time of grief, our condolences are with his family. ”
