Nowadays, the censorship has become a hot-topic and directors fear from the CBFC organization to title or feature inappropriate sequences in their movies which could verbally or visually harm the sentiments of a nation, country, religion or people. Instead of getting stuck midway to its release, the director has ensured and applied self-censorship prior to its release to redo the title.
When the pre-production work was being held during the January 2015, the director’s team decided the film to be ‘Saali Kutiya’, words use to abuse someone (Kutiya: female dog).
In no meantime, the director took nobody’s suggestion and reworked the title to ‘Katti Batti’; a more friendly term. On this take of Nikhil Advani, Katti Batti’s director, he said, “The earlier title Saali Kutiya was way too gimmicky. It was not necessary at all. The film is about the highs and lows of a relationship and what really transpires in their lives and how it all get resolved. There is no point of getting such thing just for the buzz. I loved it, but I also agreed on why we should drop it. Katti Batti sums up the idea of the film in the same way! What life is, what love is, what their relationship is best summed up in this title.”
Today, the trailer for ‘Katti Batti’ has been released on YouTube by UTV Motion Pictures. It is garnering positive response from the critics and fanatics of B-Town movies; but the picture is commended to be similar to Tanu Weds Manu Returns with a male.
Directed by Nikhil Advani, produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur of UTV Motion Pictures; ‘Katti Batti’ will hit theaters on September 18, 2015. Till then, stay cool and enjoy Hindi movies.
