The director of Kaaka Muttai, M Manikandan has roped in actor Vijay Sethupathi for his upcoming untitled Tamil film. Its shooting will start in December this year.
Manikandan made the following statement.
“Vijay really liked the script. He’s excited to team up, but he’s yet to give us dates as he’s busy with multiple projects. If everything goes well, we may start work on this film from December.”
Further regarding the film, he added the following words.
“It’ll be something very quirky and away from regular cinema. Unlike Kaaka Muttai, it’ll deal with a lighter subject with good scope for humour. But it won’t be a full-length comedy.”
Moreover, the director unveiled that the upcoming light humour film will be set in the backdrop of Chennai city.
The upcoming venture will be produced by GN Anbu Chezhiyan under the banner of Gopuram Films.
The talented actor Vijay is currently busy with a number of films lined up for him already. The list includes Idam Porul Yaevai, Mellisai, and Orange Mittai. Nalan Kumarasamy’s upcoming film, Naanum Rowdythaanand is in the post-production phase. After that, he is going to start work soon on Iraivi.

Meanwhile, Manikandan is also working on his second Tamil film – Kutrame Dhandanai which is in its post-production phase. It will be released soon. The star cast of the upcoming crime-thriller has Vidharth and Pooja Devariya in the leading roles.
Ace music composer Illayaraja is said to have been included in the film’s crew to compose background music. The director said that Illayaraja is currently working on his some other film. He will start working here as soon as he gets over with the previous project.
