One new smartphone by the Chinese smartphone giant, Xiaomi, is going to launch during a 24-hour long event. This event is titled as ‘Global Mi Phone Premier‘. It will held on 23rd April 2015.
As per the reports, there are many speculations and is very much expected to be unveiled on that day along with several other news devices. Some reports suggest that the smartphone company is going to launch its new variant of existing Mi4.
This is suggested by the new certifications and benchmark listings over the weekend tip. It has been named ‘Mi 4i’ unofficially by guessing from the ‘i’ logo made on the event invite.
However, the invite just states that ‘ I IS COMING’. But, who knows, maybe it surely be revealed. As Xiaomi Mi 4i was sighted by a Chinese website MyDrivers on Singapore’s Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) database. Not only this website noticed, but, GeekBench which is a renowned website known for benchmarking.
Xiaomi Mi 4i Specifications
The GeekBench listing suggests the following specs of Mi4i. It will be operated on Android 5.0.2 with 64-bit octa-core Snapdrago 615 processor. It is clocked at 1.65 GHz. It will be supported with 2 GB RAM. The above mentioned Xiaomi Mi 4i specifications, results in an inferior version of its Mi4 flagship phone.
The existing Mi4 is clocked at 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC processor coupled with 3 GB RAM.
There is one thing which is of utmost interest. It is that, that the above specifications of Mi 4i closely relates to the unannounced-upcoming smartphone from Xiaomi.
Its code name is ‘Ferrari‘. It was seen on a benchmark listing. The complete specs listed there are, 4.9 inch FHD display, having Adreno 405 GPU, equipped with 12 MP rear camera with 4.8 MP front facing camera, and 16 GB internal storage.
As of now, nothing is officially announced. Neither the date of availability nor the price of Mi 4i. The global premiere on 23rd April will mark the presence of CEO & Founder Lei Jun, President & Co-Founder Bin Lin, and VP Xiaomi Global Hugo Barra.
As per the statement of the company, they have set a new Guinness World Record of selling 2.11 million handsets in a time interval of mere 24 hours. It was the flash sale organized on the firm’s 5th anniversary – the Mi Fan Festival.
This festival brought a collective sale of CNY 2.08 billion ($335 million) from selling the handsets and other accessories. The previous record was held by Alibaba Tmall. They were able to sell 1.89 million handsets on Singles’ Day in November in the same time period.
