Amitabh Bachchan To Endorse DD Kisan Without Any Contract

Slamming all the news reports down, the Bollywood mega-star actor Amitabh Bachchan has denied taking any money or any contract to endorse Doordarshan’s new channel DD Kisan.

The 72-year-old actor said that his campaign or the advertisement to promote the channel was free of cost. It took place many days ago.

Amitabh Bachchan cleared all things in his statement.

“I wish to state that I have not entered into any contract with Doordarshan, on the endorsement of their Channel DD Kisan, and neither have I received any money from them. I worked with the advertising agency Lowe Lintas on the campaign for DD Kisan, and have not entered into any contract with them either, nor have I received any money from Lintas, as being stated,” he said in a statement.

“My ‘deliverables’ on this campaign have been executed by me many days ago. I work pro bono on various issues and DD Kisan Channel is one of them.”

Moreover, a Lintas, ad company, spokesman cleared regarding the issue in the following statement.

“We received formal communication from his office this afternoon, that upon reviewing the work-in-progress contract with his team, Mr. Bachchan has taken a decision on principle that he will not charge any fee on issues involving social causes and those that are in the best interest of the nation.”

Bachchan has further clarified that if there is a proof that he has taken any sum of money, then it can be forwarded to him for verification.

Earlier, many reports came out stating that Amitabh Bachchan has been given Rs 6.31 crore to rope him in for the promotion of DD Kisan. This could have been the most expensive deal until now by an artist.Watch movie online The Transporter Refueled (2015)

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has ordered a probe to look into the matter carefully. An I&B source said that Prasar Bharati has paid Rs 6.31 crore to Lintas to do promotional work. But actor denying any payment made to him, make the matter complicated as now there is need to find out why and how this money was paid.

The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) announced to start it in their election campaign to stop the indebted farmers from committing suicide. Thus, Narendra Modi after becoming the Prime Minister launched it on May 26.

A report revealed that before finalizing Amitabh Bachchan for the advertisement, Doordarshan considered Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Salman Khan for the promotion. Amitabh’s campaign is to run until 30th April 2016.
