Bollywood has turned into a business: Kalki Koechlin

Kalki Koechlin, who has been in the limelight with her previous movies Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Happy Ending, says that Bollywood turned into a business where the only thing given weight is Box Office. The business matters, it shows the movie’s strength and potential. People’s mind have adopted this wrong notion.

“We along with our film industry are growing, while this is an essential aspect of an industry, but it has now more become a place where only earning matters, not the subject.” .. says the Kalki Koechlin, the divorced wife of Anurag Basu.

She also says that this wave came from the success of ‘Queen’ movie.

Kalki will appear once again on silver screen her movie, which is different from other melody, drama we have seen in Bollywood so far, “Margarita With A Starw”. Kalki currently is busy promoting this venture.

“People should accept that business is not everything, content and subject of the movie matter a lot. We have seen movies like ‘Queen’ and ‘Ankhon’ which are covering both aspects of a film.” she said.

Kalki is playing a role of a girl who is being faced cerebral palsy, and she cannot walk on her legs, she uses an automatic wheel chair. Not domestically, but the movie has grabbed attention from international countries due to its plot.

The Aamir Khan, often times called a perfectionist, appeared at the screening event of the movie, and he supported the uniqueness of its concept. She came with his wife ‘Kiran Khan’.

The actress said that, “Aamir watched the movie, and he appreciated everything shown in the movie. He is promoting movie unselfishly.”

The movie is directed by Shonali Bose, and it features Revathi and Sayani Gupta. The movie ‘Margarita With A Straw” will release in your nearest theater on April 17th 2015.

To shorten out what she meant is that Bollywood has become a place where people boast about Box Office Figures.
