It appears to be that the recent Anurag Kashyap’ gamble has not parlayed quite impressively. The disastrous love_story-cum-drama venture failed to attract enough eyeballs to make up the post-production budget. Fox Star Studious are on their way to loose a great deal of money and efforts after producing this ridiculous melodrama.

‘Bombay Velvet’ generated massive buzz prior to its release, but when the trailer came in front of the audiences’ eyes, it became definite that this movie will fail, and is failed miserably. According to the critics, while watching the movie, they have had such kind of experience after 4-5 years.

It is a Rs. 100+ Crore budget movie, the whole hard cash had been wasted recreating sets of Bombay 60s and costumes. If the director could have worked or put efforts on the film’s story, then it would have been much more likable and friendly to the audiences.

Taran Adarsh, an award winning trade analyst, captioned ‘Bombay Velvet’ as a “D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R”. Check his tweeted material:-

Yes, the movie has collected only Rs. 5.2 Crores even after releasing in 2600 Screens. The collection was so low that it averaged 1/4 of the movie ‘Besharam’ starring Ranbir Kapoor; directed by Anurag’s brother. Don’t believe. Check this tweet:-

A fanatic lover of Ranbir Kapoor watched the movie with much anticipation, and after that, this happened:-

Now let’s talk about the actual business which it has done on its second day run at the Box Office.

When people experienced dying at each passing scene of ‘Bombay Velvet’, they realized that it is a drama-cum-boredom. The second day business figures were sure to fall down to a great margin. Expectations proved true when theaters closed/cancelled ‘Bombay Velvet’ screening for not having sufficient individuals ready-to-die in seldom.

It merely collected Rs 2.8 Crores on the 2nd day of run at the Box Office. Remember, it’s a 100 Crore movie. What a boomerang effect it is! An opposite and undesirable effect to what was intended.
