Indian Embassy Participates In Tomohon International Flower Festival 2015

The preparations for the much awaited Tomohon International Flower Festival 2015 are completed. It inaugurated in the city of flowers, Tomohon, North Sulawesi from 8th August to 12th August 2015.

A total of 10 countries participated in the TIFF 2015. The list includes India, the Netherlands, the USA, Germany, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Ghana, France, and New Zealand. The Indian Embassy participated in it for the very first time.

The Festival venue is decided to be the Tomohon city located on the slopes of Mount Lokon, which is 22 kilometers away from Manado, the capital city. The city of flowers has already hosted the same in the past.

The festival is celebrated annually and it attracts numerous national and international tourists easily. Representatives from different nations as well as the host’s state governments were present on the first day of 5th Tomohon International Flower Festival.

The Mayor, Jimmy F Eman offered thanks to all the representatives of various countries for visiting while delivering a speech at the TIFF 2015 opening ceremony. He also promoted the theme of the festival “Let’s Join Flowers Extravaganza”.

“It’s a tribute to our government and society,” he said.

The first day of the TIFF started with a flower parade by France, USA, Philippines, Poland, India, and New Zealand and the various regions within the host country.

The local people of the host along with the security officials and authorities are prepared to maintain the safe and peaceful environment during it.

This festival was firstly organized in 2008 to bring the city people, flower growers, the local tourism into the limelight to ensure the welfare of all.
