Controversy: Ranveer Singh’s ‘Rupa Frontline’ Offended PETA for beating a shark

PETA organization feels offended by the recent advertisement of ‘Rupa Frontline’ featuring Ranveer Singh beating a shark at not-too-far in sea. The petition has been filed by PETA earlier today morning. The company’s spokesman committed to release a disclaimer along with the advert as they did not mean to hurt animals publicly.

This is to clarify that the shark shown in the latest Rupa commercial featuring Ranveer Singh is a rubber toy, no animal was used in the shoot. It is not our intention to hurt anyone’s sentiment. We will be adding a disclaimer to the ad to this effect, said Mukesh Agarwal, whole-time director, Rupa & Co. Ltd. brand’s spokesperson, in a statement.

The organization even stated to write to the brand and the actor for being a part of such hurting commercial. The owner has been notified to take the advert into consideration, and to remove the part or put a disclaimer.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Poorva Joshipura, PETA India CEO, said, PETA will be writing to Rupa Frontline and Ranveer Singh to share our concerns on behalf of sharks and today’s socially aware youth.
