Hit-And-Run Case Verdict: Salman Sentenced 5 Years In Jail, Money Matters More Than Conviction for Victims

Mumbai: After 12 years of crisis, hit-and-run case finally gets a verdict today. But not in the favor of Salman Khan, a Mumbai court has sentenced him to 5 years in jail for killing one and injuring four people.

Salman returned home to meet his family for the last time before going to jail. He lives, a few meters away from where the accident took place on September 28, 2002 night, Galaxy Apartments in Bandra West.

The family and fans waited for him at his home, and when he headed to the apartment there were some excited fans to see him, few were crying and other shouting and cheering.

However, the security kept the fans away and made the space for Salman to meet his family. The family was full of tears when he arrived at the home.

On this verdict, there were different opinions reflected and represented by fans, critics and authorities. The victims of the hit-and-run case demanded only for money (compensation), they don’t want Salman Khan to get punished.

One person sleeping on the side of the road lost his leg, Abdullah Rauf Shaikh and he said: –

[quote_box_center]”If Salman is punished, I will not be benefited in any way as neither my leg will heal nor my problems would go away. Instead, if they compensate us then we do not have any problem,”[/quote_box_center] Shaikh said, who, 12 years ago, lost his right leg in the incident.

A young man, who lost his wife – Nurullah Mehboob Shaif, “We were told we would get a compensation of Rs 10 lakh, but what will we do with that amount at this time of inflation.”

He is also requesting, if his son could get a job anywhere, that would personally and financially be good for the family.
