Bollywood’s King Khan – Shahrukh Khan gets award of Best Artist for Happy New Year (2014) from ‘Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award 2015‘. The film was directed by Farah Khan and released on Diwali last year. It was a blockbuster and super-hit at the Box Office.
Amar Singh, a politician from Samajwadi Party, presented him the award. During the award giving ceremony, King Khan also danced with Amar on the song ‘Indiawaale from HNY’. It was a glorious moment for him, and other legendary Bollywood superstars were also present to honor the best talent.
Shahrukh Khan appeared happy after receiving the award. Apart from him, the film also featured Deepika Padukone, Vivan Shah, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Abhishek Bachchan in lead roles. This was a comedy-drama movie.
‘Dadasaheb Awards’ is the only organization which has awarded Shahrukh Khan for his performance in Happy New Year. It was described as a complete failure critically. This comedy picture failed to impress critics, his last comedy movie Chennai Express (2013) was critically acclaimed and SRK received many awards for Best Comedy Actor, Best Film, Best Actor etc.
Rumors evolved in B-Town past week that Abhishek Bachchan, who played ‘Nandu’ in Happy New Year has taken the responsibility to write the script for its sequel. Farah Khan said, “Abhishek is currently writing HNY 2 script. I would definitely make a movie around it if I succeed to impress me.”
Rajkumar Rao, Kai Po Che actor, is also awarded for his quality performance in ‘Citylights’. He said, “I got to know about my invitation to award ceremony two days ago. I was not expecting anything like Dadasaheb Phalke, but after getting it, it feels great.”
